45+ video: Dropped chain after start, rode with 55+ and caught up with 45+. Thank you ChiCrossCup and xXx for putting on another fabulous season opener. https://youtu.be/Wt9_3x4oTbI
Thanks to xXx Racing and everyone who worked to make this weekend a sucess. An amazing start to the season. So much internet to consume now, I’ll be useless for days.
Thank you xXx for all the hard work and prep that went into not only an incredibly fun, fast and technical course but also for bringing in an absolute legend of the sport. I know I’m not alone when I say that I’ll remember today for a very very long time.
Chapeau!!
Not a bad way to kick off the CCC, huh? I just wanted to take a minute to say a few thank yous:
– First, to all of you for coming to the party today and proving why the CCC is the best amateur CX series in the universe. So much positivity and comeraderie…I swear the whole park was buzzing by the end of the day.
– To my teammates at xXx Racing for all their hard work before, during, and after the race.
– To a couple of guys named Sven for the awesome clinics, and to Stan Nice for putting on a different kind of clinic altogether. What’s that? You weren’t there to watch the 4/5 race? Tsk, tsk. Oh and if you ever get the chance to sit on a hill watching a CX race chatting with Sven and Sven about what you love about cyclocross, do it. Seriously. Nicest guys ever.
– To Corridor Brewery & Provisions for providing the keg that fueled the beer garden and our collective post-race recovery. If you find yourself thinking about what to do for dinner, go see them at Southport and Roscoe. Eileen, Woody, Patrick, and the crew there are all so freaking nice and the beers are so so good.
And I am exhausted to the point that I’ve probably forgotten half the folks I should really give shout-outs to.
Please remember to hashtag any posts on social media with #caldwellcx.
Cheers,

Kevin, you continue to impress with your race management and course design. We made it through the first turn as promised, and then I hit that bombhole in the straightaway snapping Carbon bits. I’m coming for you in DeKalb ๐
Thanks to all the XXX team who were working to coral the crowd.
Caldwell woods more exciting than any race I’ve ever done. Maybe it’s because this is the second one. Doesn’t matter so pleased to c all you people race bikes.
Thanks to the fellow racer in the 4s race that stopped to help me with my bike after I bombed the dirt downhill in the far northwest corner of the course. Much appreciated so I could finish out the race.
Velosmith lady (I think!) I got into a tangle with during Womens 4/5 – thanks for being so rad and fast on your feet! Also, sorry I missed the beer, so next time–without a fall. ๐
Thanks so much for giving the free tickets to the clinic to the winning Juniors! What an amazing opportunity to get personal advice and tips from the Svens. Great day all around for our family and looking forward to race #2!
Seriously, that happened. Sven Nys in the cat 4/5 race racing alongside guys like me (albeit briefly). What an amazing race, really fun track and great job xXx!
If anyone found a Cat 1/2/3 Race Winnings envelope with some hard earned cash in there and the name “sven” on the front of the envelope, please let me know tbccoachpk@gmail.com. If you abide by the “finder keeper” rule please spend it on something awesome like bikes, beer and/or a CCC race. Thanks for the awesome race XXX.
Looking for lost keys, Green Carabiner with 2 house keys.
Hi Regina,
I have your keys. Email me at kevin@xxxracing.org and we can arrange to get them back to you.

I hit that hole every lap. Race director brain kicked in every time with a “do we have any more dirt to fill that in?”

Great job with the race xXx, and an excellent course. I’m also very happy that the masters races are back up to 45 minutes; much appreciated.

Pretty sure that was a fine gentleman by the name of Anthony.
Happy to help. Hope to.see you out there the rest of the series.
Anthony is everyone’s hero and best friend.

So glad to be back at CX! Well done on the course. Very well balanced between power and skill. Looking forward to the next…
Lost a set of keys possible in the pool parking lot 1 house key and a small lock key with a ChrioOne key ring card.
Highlights from the 45+ race. Pretty boring unless you’re Danny or Bernie… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL1CvmCBMkg&t=169s
